Mohammed Ali Road is known to be one of the most famous street food destinations in Mumbai. It is extremely famous for Mughlai and Tandoori and food. However, in the recent years, with the increase in the number of people who visit the streets, there are plenty of places that offer the typical Indian-Chinese (which tends to be spicy), Shawarmas, and toher north Indian delicacies that people come looking for.
This is probably one of the few places in Mumbai that has very few options for vegetarians. Mohammed Ali Road is usually crowded even post midnight and is bustling with people dining with their families and friends. Often, most restaurants are take-away outlets where there aren’t tables and chairs set up for you to dine right there. On the other hand there are also air conditioned restaurants meant for those who’re too impatient to order a take-away! During most Muslim celebrations, Mohammed Ali Road is a little too crowded, especially during Ramzaan. If you’re planning a trip to Mohammed Ali Road during Ramzaan, please try making it to the area before sun-down, right when all the vendors are setting up, so that you’re not waiting in a queue for ever!
