Ingredients

1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour (215g)
1 cup unsalted butter softened to room temperature! (226g)
1 1/2 cup brown sugar, tightly packed (250g)
1/4 cup sugar (50g)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons milk*
1/2 cup chocolate chips (85g)
Toppings
2 Tablespoons creamy peanut butter
2 Tablespoons colored sprinkles
1/4 cup broken Oreo pieces

Instructions
00:00 Introduction
00:45 Preheat your oven to 350F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and spread flour in an even layer over the parchment paper.
00:57 Bake on 350F (72C) oven for 5-7 minutes, use a thermometer to check that temperature has reached 160F (72C) immediately after removing from oven (make sure your thermometer is inserted in the flour and isn't touching/reading the temperature of the pan)
01:03 Once flour has reached 160F (72C) allow it to cool and run it through a sifter to break up any clumps that may have formed while baking. Set aside.
01:20 In a large bowl using an electric mixer, beat together softened butter and sugars. Beat well until creamy.
01:37 Add vanilla extract and salt, stir well.
01:51 Gradually add cooled, sifted flour mixture, stirring until completely combined.
03:25 If the dough is not the desired consistency and is too crumbly, add 2 Tablespoons of milk.
04:10 Stir in chocolate chips.
04:30 For additional toppings, evenly divide cookie dough into four bowls. Stir sprinkles into one, creamy peanut butter into another, and Oreo cookie crumbs into the last. Have fun playing with your own toppings and add-ins, I'd love to know what you come up with!
04:39 Store cookie dough in an airtight container in refrigerator. Cookie dough will harden as it sits, so allow it to come to room temperature before serving leftovers.

Hello Angel - Sugar Spun Run! Thank you for this recipe. I made 2 batches because the first batch was super grainy from the sugar not melting and I don't like to feel sugar in my mouth while eating my cookie dough. For the 2nd batch, I melted the butter which helped to melt the sugar. I also mixed the butter and sugar for a longer time (about 8 minutes). Your recipe is great! Just melt the butter if you don't want to feel sugar crystals in your mouth. Thanks again and keep up the great work. I am a big fan!

Had a co-worker today tell me all edible cookie dough is "disgusting" and another said "they all taste like cardboard". I told them: "challenge accepted". This just moved to the top of my "to bake" list. Can't wait to try! Thank you, Sam!!!

Ok . So I'm a recent follower and several of your recipes saved me through the holiday season (hello, easiest pie crust ever!) And now this 💙💙💙💙 YES!!! I've tried numerous other edible cookie dough recipes and I'm super excited to try this one! Also, thanks for the tips regarding adding milk. All the ones I've tried suggest adding milk but I'm going to try your suggestions.

Living in a country where there’s really no threat of salmonella (Japan), so just need to heat treat flower and leave out baking soda and baking powder. Got it!

I love your recipe... I’m going to try it now 😋 in your recipe you have the oven temp as 350F or 72C and then you want the flour temp to be at 160F or 72C! I’m confused as to weather 350F is 72C or 160F is 72C... I looked up on a converter app and 350F is actually 176C... I fully appreciate you having the conversions in your recipe as we are not all from America 😊 Keep up the great work & keep those recipes coming 😋

Hey Sam. Did you get my question about my cookie dough? I did something wrong. I used light brown sugar. Would that make the dough hard?

Is it ok if you only use a cup of flour and microwave it for 1:30 seconds???

Hi, is using melted butter better as against using softened butter? And what is the end result of using melted butter?
