The Legend of Heroes led me to the Ys series, and I'm eternally grateful for that sequence of events. The Ys series is such an immensely fun Action-RPG franchise, and I am immensely excited for the 9th game.

Ys 8 was my first ys game and it was really good. This one looks good.

As someone who has both ys 8 and 9 for ps4 (jpn versions) ANYONE who says the graphics aren't up to snuff compared to Ys 8 are talking out their ass.
9 looks better than 8 everyday of the week. What people are complaining about is the fact that most of this game takes place in a city and underground ruins and when compared to the unrestrained nature of a deserted island, it isn't as imaginative.
Graphical prowess though, Ys 9 all day over 8
