I was in a classroom at Wesley Biblical Seminary and I mention something about Calvinism believing totality and her professor said to me you know that wesley and Arminianism also believe in total depravity. When I investigated this, I was surprised to find out it was true.. Both sides of the debate believe and total depravity. The Armenians believe that God‘s grace must awaken us, but that we can refuse that grace and push it away.

Does it necessarily apply that people are unable to respond positively to the gospel message unaided?

" there is no part of humans untouched by sin, " as an explanation of total depravity, ignores the English definition of 2 words: total and depravity.
If a food is filled (total) with mold (sin), can it be saved?
No. Unless, one believes, as Calvin taught, that God regenerates before faith, which we non calvinists reject.

The explanation in this video of "total depravity, " is not consistent with the definition of those 2 fits very nicely with Calvin's belief in predestined elect ( the blue-eyed saved and the brown-eyed condemned)
One false teaching is supported by another false teaching.

It means more than that. It means that you cannot respond to God simply by hearing the gospel. TD, like every part of Calvinist soteriologically is false.
