I've been out cleaning some of the climbing routes at Paint Creek State Park and creating new ones! This trip Dalton Puckett and I spent a good amount of time cleaning a new route. We're calling it "Mmmm Gene" 5.5 ...(Bob's Burgers reference) Because it's overall slightly annoying and also we kept saying stupid things to each other while cleaning and responding with an "mmmm Gene" 😂. The annoying parts are a bad anchor setup with the only nearby trees suitable for anchoring pushing your anchor into a sharp scissor crack, which we found can be countered if the belayer stands far right. Also if you fall from halfway up or lower, chances are you're hitting your back on the tree. Despite all this it's actually a fun slightly challenging climb. May have been climbed back in the day, but it's not listed on MP and definitely hasn't been cleaned in years so we're claiming it.
