SOLVED Cold Case, Human Remains Found In Vehicle Submerged For 39 Years

Alan Douglas Livingston has been FOUND nearly 40 years later! Back in January, myself, Exploring With Nug, and Chris Overstreet dove on a vehicle Chris found in the Coosa River in Rainbow City, AL. We could not find a tag at the time, but did pull parts off and confirmed it was a brown 1980’s Ford Bronco matching Alan’s vehicle. We reported it to the Gadsden police who sent in their divers and began the investigation.

Because the vehicle had disintegrated to the point it might fall apart and was encased in mud and silt up to the windshield, Gadsden police asked for the FBI’s assistance who returned this past week with specialty divers. The silt inside the vehicle was sifted using a dredge and skeletal remains were discovered along with Alan’s ID.

Alan’s family now has answers to his nearly 40 year disappearance and we ask that you keep them in your prayers during this difficult time. We would like to thank all the law enforcement involved and everyone who watches and supports our search efforts on social media. Thank You ❤

What's really cool about this case is you mentioned that this was one of the oldest remains case the F.B.I. dove on. That kind of hands on training is invaluable for them moving forward in determinations with future cases. Once again, you guys rock!!!!

On a totally unrelated note, my dad passed away from Lou Gherig's disease in 1984. Our last family vehicle that he drove was a brown and tan Ford Bronco, not sure of the exact year but definitely around 1980....The photo on screen of the brown 1983 Ford Bronco in your video brought tears to my eyes and a smile in my heart, thinking about my dad driving us around, with mom, and I treasure those memories. Thank you for that. I am so sorry to hear about Alan Livingston's demise and my heart goes out to his family and friends. I am grateful that they at least can bury their loved one now.

Deepest sympathy to the family for their loss. At least he is now back surrounded by the love of his family.

Nice to see law enforcement getting help from experts to get the car out of properly unlike those in the last AWP episode who ignored AWPs advice and accidentally flipped a car that no longer had a roof.

Nice to see Chris being acknowledged for his good eye and spotting the vehicle to start with. So glad they could finally get remains and ID Alan. This can now give his family the closure they needed to where he's been all this time. Great dive by all. I hope you both are helping Chris to learn how to dive and do it safely.

I love how you and AWP started as diving and magnet fishing hobbyists. You build an experience throughout years and after that y'all change to more serious stuff. God bless you, and i wish you as many ascends as dives

Thank you for keeping your videos real. No unnecessary drama or taking advantage of people on your very underappreciated channel. I remember when you first started out when magnet fishing and river treasure was all the rage. You had long hair and drove a little car to the rivers. Thank you for your part in cleaning up the waterways and finding those who deserve to be found.

Hi, Adam. Good to see at least some of the footage you still had but also just being able to take us through the process of identifying the Ford Bronco as possibly belonging to a cold case. While I am happy that Alan's family and friends finally have closure, I can't help but wonder about those family members and friends who have since passed away, knowing he was still missing at that time. Kudos to you, Chris and Jeremy for closing such an old cold case. Thanks for sharing. Stay healthy and safe, all of you 👍🏽 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Another person brought home. Thank you, Adam and Jeremy for getting the ball rolling on this cold case. Things get complicated when the police get involved. But when the FBI shows up it gets even worse. I understand protocol and that they have to do it a certain way to have a case against someone. But when the family has waited 40 years for answers, and they get those answers just to be brought to a complete stop again can be frustrating. Good work guys. Love you all. Be safe out there.

So let me see if I got this right? A friend named Chris comes to Adam and Nug and says he thinks he may have found a car under water... To solving a 39 year old case! That is amazing. Great Team work! Wish I could do more to help you guys out, other than watching, liking, commenting and subscribing. I do pray the Lord keeps you guys well and safe and helps meet your needs. Thanks
