First of all she is primarily the Goddess of Love. She slept with many, but all other gods too slept with many more, Zeus, Poseidon and various others slept with other Gods, demigods, mortals so she just evens that out from the female side.

Actually Afrodite was the goddess of sexual desire and orgasm, she was not the goddess of love. In Greek we have two different words that in english they translate both love( "agapi" And "erotas"). Her son Eros was the God of love . He fell in love with a woman named "Psichi" which means soul in Greek, and Afrodite tried to destroy their love because she was human.
