wired, I do not know why that would be. You could try updating the camera and see if that helps.

Yes h.264 is how the video is compressed, most of the time if you export a .MP4 it will automatically encode it as h.264. sorry I can not tell you more I have no experience with imovie

If you have a Silver edition you will not get all of the options. Your max resolution will be 1080p at 30fps

Hello I have a gopro hero 3 black edition. I do no editing to my footage what so ever. In that case should I have protune on or off?

I have a hero 3 and I Don't have options like yours,
Resolution and frames per second are together and then if I scroll all the way down WVGA option what does that mean?

I do use it quite a bit, it you really want to get the most out of it you have to process the footage with cineform studios and this can get time consuming. As for battery life I can not say I have noticed a difference but I have never tested it.

I do not have a video for tricks on how to save battery. The best advice I have is try to keep the recordings short and turn the camera off when you are not using it. Also I would keep the wifi off.

Hope this helps, I will make a video about it.

The only change on my 3 White is resolution. No FOV. It's on wide, like it or not.

Do you have a 4k TV or computer? All TV on the market right now 1080p and there are almost no computer screes that are higher then that. I think that 4k is aimed at the professorial film maker. The other thing is that the files 4k creates are huge and you will burn HDD spaces really fast. I shoot 1080p most of the time and nominally at 30fps. If will to move 60fps if I am shooting high speed sports.

Keep in mind editing 4k takes an incredibly fast computer.
Hope this helps

Don't think you can. The GoPro will send it video out over the HDIM cable so it might be possible if you had a capture card however I think this set up would get vary expensive.

If you really want to save stills I would use the 4k mode. However if you are trying to edit this video it is going to be a headache.

I think it is because you have a white I have no experience using the white editions.

1080p the image is 1, 920 pixels X 1, 080 pixels
4K there are around 4, 000 pixels X 2, 000 pixels
4K is what is used to film some new movies and is the only resolution the give quality slimmer to that of film.

I have a gopro hero 3 white edition and when i go to select the resolution its different from yours it does not let me change the FPS, or FOV independantly from the resolution it only has a few options like the hero 2 so why is mine different?

Medium, Narrow and Wide are the field of view picked up by the camera. If you want to take full advantage of the 170 degree field of view use wide but if you want a tighter more zoomed shot used narrow or medium.

why do u get 4k resolution on the hero 3, but u don't get 4k on the hero 3+? what the heck

I would try downloading VLC to try to play the video back. Then to convert I would use GoPro Studios 2.0. You will just have to be really patient well the video is converting because converting the video will take a long long time
