It's been 8 years Peter Jackson. The world NEEDS you to return with a new production diary, please. We need it now, more than ever, please.

I love how Peter Jackson just walks around with no shoes like a hobbit!

Great to see one of these focusing on the music.  For me, it's always been one of the most important things in any film.  While acting and visuals are big ones, obviously, music sets the tone for scenes and brings the environment to life somehow.  You notice when the score cuts out.  The instrumentals in these movies have always impressed me.  That's some talented composing with a damn good orchestra to play it.

Having now seen the movie twice, I can say that the score really plays a great part in setting the tone. Right from the beginning and when "The Desolation of Smaug" is shown on the screen you can tell the danger has really been turned up in this film. As always...great work to Peter and all of those associated with the film.

Mr. Jackson, thank you so much for doing these blogs, they are wonderful and great!  The music to a movie adds so much, and speaks the language of emotion.  Great job on your movies!

I like how this blog was devoted to the music of he film. I love music, and I find myself listening to Howard Shore over and over again. I played in an orchestra for three years, and that has therefore given me a deeper appreciation towards music, and this blog was just amazing. Love the music, love the movies, the double bass rocks!!

I rarely watch movies in theatres, but this is the one you have to watch in that format. It's that kind of movie.

I love the music of The Lord Of The Rings and the music of The Hobbit is even better. Howard Shore is a mastermind.

So thank you Peter for all the Blogs and i can't wait for the next one next year. Everybody have a beautiful christmas time.

There IS something we can proclaim a thing Tolkien would have been absolutely satisfied with in the Hobbit 2 without a smallest hesitation, it is the MUSIC! ;-) I love you, Howard, for not only colouring, but even enriching almost every corner of Middle-Earth! I can now even imagine roaming through its images without your music accompanying Tolkien's text...(as in Phil Dragash's LOTR audiobooks)
