"Carol of the Bells" a world-famous Ukrainian Christmas carol written in 1916. It tells the story of a swallow that flies to an innkeeper and calls him to look at his flock of sheep, where many little lambs have been born, which means that the innkeeper is prosperous is where he can make a lot of money. The Ukrainians were wealthy before the Russians came and took everything away. On the night of January 22-23, 1921, the author of the song Leontovych was shot dead at the age of 43 in his parents' house by an agent of the Cheka secret service. The agent stole his victim's fur coat and shoes.

In my opinion this has to be the very best instrumental version of Carol of the Bells on You Tube. This version is truly outstanding. I would think that there are not too many versions of this wonderful carol that I have not heard to date. Many are brilliant, but this has that wow factor.
