I love how "Accidental Accents" isn't only an alliteration but also a pun on "dental".

"Karen Butler"
Never thought I'd hear those two words without being separated by "screamed at the"

I almost had a heart attack when Chill started speaking with a Quebec accent. It was so good and accurate I can’t even do it, even though I’m a Quebecer...

Grill: what was that?
Brew: french
Grill: sounds made up

I actually have psychogenic FAS! I'm Australian and I've never even left Queensland, but I'm constantly being asked where I'm from. I mostly have a Canadian/American accent with bits of British and Irish popping up from time to time. I still use most Australian slang so I sound a bit like a tourist trying too hard to fit in. Apparently, I was speaking with the right accent up until I was about 7 but then I switched after some very personal and unfortunate circumstances. It's really neat to see someone cover this since I rarely get to hear about it.

As a Anglo-québécois that moved away, you have no idea how big a smile I had on my face when Chill started speaking in true blue Québec French.

I miss hearing it so much.

When I talk to someone with an accent or someone taking an accent, I tend to start unintentionally speaking with the same accent during that conversation. It doesn't continue like that after the conversion tho.

Wow, I would've never guessed Chill was from Quebec before this video. Either that, or he's had a fantastic teacher.

For a Canadian, Grill sounds like a random Bostonian who heckle opposing players in Fenway Park.

I have autism and so I’m easily influenced and latch onto random things.
When I was a kid, I came out with an American accent (I’m welsh and live in the UK) and never really stopped.
I’m 19 now and people often ask me where I come from and they’re always a little shocked to hear that I’ve never even been to America.
It gets a little frustrating sometimes when it’s the first thing someone asks me 😂
I’m not sure if it’s FAS as it is linked my autism but this video just reminded me of myself

The "tapping your tongue between your teeth" thing for T and D just opened my eyes, for real!
I've been pronouncing D and T in English wrong all this time! I've been pronouncing them like they're pronounced in Russian - with tongue tapped to the top of the mouth next to the front teeth, not on the teeth themselves! Doing it on the teeth makes the sound sharper, more th-like, way more like what native English speakers sound like!
