My condition was caused by trauma too. A much more mild circumstance, however, but it involved serious psychological damage and abuse by special education teachers, over the course of 6 entire years, from Kindergarten (talked in school, was friendly, thought myself to be a pretty cool kid), to 5th grade (thought I was unworthy of love, and that since my sentences were phrased was a little "odd", or that I sometimes just didn't say things at all right, that I had no right to talk to peers at all).
