I’m in culinary school and chef always gives us what he expects by a certain time. I get it done but with zero time to spare and there’s only a few things to do. This is very helpful!! Thank you! This helps motivate me to push forward.

Yeah, like I have said in comments on other videos,
I have been in the "business"
for over 35 years. In that time I've done everything from family steak house to fine dining to catering events and everything else food service related.
Justin's comment about doing the tasks that are more difficult or that I don't like to do, I do first. Additionally, I always try to do the things hate the most with extra care and effort to do a just a little bit better than last time.
I can tell the caliber of a cook by their prep list skills and Justin you are the real deal. I'd gladly take a shift with you, any day of the week.

Never worked in a kitchen and am not in the business but I know this tip will work with my home kitchen. Especially holiday dinners. Thanks!

Newer cook here looking to make things a little more efficient in my kitchen, this helps a lot even when it comes to cooking food in service. The number system especially.

Hey Justin, thanks for all your amazing content. I've worked in a lot of different industries but now find myself as a baker making croissants and patisserie. Your insight and tips helped me excel from my first day and climb to a senior role incredibly quickly. I really owe you so much more than just this comment! I followed you for years and only now are all the tips paying off in my new field.

The most productive thing I ever learned was walk the mile to work and back . I would write my list on my way to work smoke a joint drink a red bull and go to work pumped up .

Thanks Justin for sharing. I always write down prep lists on paper. Your right to start projects that take the longest & are a priority first. So many times I used to fail at my prep list due to not prioritizing. It’s great that there’s an app for prep lists. I’m going to give this app a try & share with my Chef

Thank you for your video. I cook in a nursing home and will try to incorporate some of these ideas in my work. I lack proper time management and sometimes can't get things done on time.

I just found your channel today and I gotta say it's awesome! There are plenty of videos on youtube about cooking but I haven't really seen any that go into the prep side of working in a kitchen and as a linecook it's really cool to hear from someone with more experience in higher end kitchens about how they do things.

Thank you Chef for the incredible info about making a prep list. I’m a Pastry Chef De Partie and I’m always looking for a way to improve the kitchen and constantly become better starting with the smallest of details. Thank you once again.

Just had that same kind of service at a pop up! This video, as with all of you videos, is super helpful! Love the care you take with describing things that people would gloss over. The devil’s in the details!

Time management is one of the most important things in life. One of the 1st things I learned in the Marine Corps. It has served me well since.
