17:20 There is only a 23 day limit on how long you can keep a Death Note Victim alive until they eventually die. If they are unable to Die in the way that was written in the Death Note for whatever reason, then they will simply die of a Heart Attack.

The Death Note will not affect those under 780 days old.
The god of death (Shinigami) must not hand the Death Note directly to a child under 6 years of age based on the human calendar.
You cannot kill humans at the age of 124 or over with the Death Note
If you write "die of disease" with a specific disease's name, but without a specific time, if it takes more than 24 days for the human to die the 23-day rule will not take effect and the human will die at an adequate time depending on the disease.You will lose memory of the Death Note when losing its ownership. But you can regain this memory by either obtaining the ownership once again or by touching the Death Note. This can be done up to 6 times per Death Note.
If the 6 times are exceeded, the person's memory of the Death Note will not return and they will have to use it without any previous memory of it.

The plan to take out Misora is a bad one. One of Light's few advantages for a while was that L didn't know he could kill by other means than heart attack. L would find her death immediately suspicious, and the slightest investigation would show she showed up with info about Kira, and spoke with Light before leaving, and the one who killed her died as well. It would focus the investigation on Light and rob him of an advantage.

The plan with using the fbi as puppets is better, but it would take some careful construction.

When I was a kid I thought Light was a genius, now as an adult I'm constantly finding the simplest little things Light messed up on early on that if he had thought about for literally 2 seconds he'd have avoided: Like bringing a piece/the book itself to school with him and writing a name once in a while during class or googling criminals from all over the world so all the deaths aren't localized like you mentioned... Lights biggest mistake was killing L. As long as L was alive, he had the ability to control the search for him by assisting L. By killing L he gave L’s research straight to his replacement, giving them a huge advantage over light. This is what eventually ends his rule.

I'm pretty sure one of the rules is he only has like 31 days for someone to live after writing their name to control them or anything. He can't have someone under his control for 2 years. But yes he definitely should have used that to his advantage more.

Funfact: in the moment where Light's room has been bugged, there's a loophole that we can exploit which I've watched Cinema summary's Death Note video, Light can threaten to sue the police for bugging his room without his consent, since it's illegal to bug or spy on someone without evidence or consent, they'll be forced to let Light go

If I were Kira, I'd write down VERY SPECIFIC circumstances to be met for ANYONE to actually bite the dust.

For example: doing the same crime after breaking out of jail, killing an unarmed civilian, etc.

They thought he was Japanese because the deaths occurred during a time frame that a Japanese student would be awake and not in class. They determined the prefecture because the first deaths were local to light while he was testing it.

You have to make it all happen at various times so it's not just when you would be awake locally.
