Just googled it, the TOP earners make 87, 000 a year… the average is 58, 000 a year. I understand jobs that don’t require a higher education get payed less, but risking your life for the same salary as a teacher is absolute BS

Mfs thought it would be a good idea to do this job until they get distracted and fall☠️

Not to mention the job has a high death rate. A lot of people have fallen to their death climbing these things. It's usually when they get comfortable with climbing, and stop using their safety hooks when the one wrong move takes place.

Back in my day when I was a lineman I would have done that in a heartbeat and I started off with a fear of heights but slowly but surely got over it It was a great job that would probably be the biggest rush I would ever get from climbing

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure that guy gets paid $20, 000 to change that lightbulb every 6 months

I've always said that we live in such a weird world. For example, singers and baseball players make more money than somebody who is saving a life or risking their life. I've always thought of it as strange ever since i was little.

I used to do this job and ypu missed a very important aspect (understandable unless you've actually done it). Part of the gear hes using (which you see him throw over the climbing pegs) are called pellican hooks, and they are what secure you to the tower in the event that you lose your grip and fall. However, if you look closely you can see that the hook (carabiner) is not actually secured to the peg in a way that it cant come off. We used to use an additional little hook that had a hole in one side (where the pelican hook would go through and then lock) amd on the other side was a much smaller hook that could not come off the end of the climbing peg, thus ensuring safety. While the climber in the video is incredibly ballsy, hes incredibly stupid as well if you ask me.

I'm afraid of heights to begin with, but since I became disabled, even videos like this easily trigger me now. I developed neuropathy that destroyed my ability to balance so even stepping out onto the balcony of my apartment is difficult, and I only live on the sixth floor. When I'm standing, if I tilt my head back or close my eyes, I'll fall down. I didn't even realize how badly it affected me till I saw another video of skydivers and it freaked me out.
