you can have 16 memory chips on the pcb r9 290x 290 390 390x has 512 bit gddr5 memory subsystem

There's bios files available that accept, the use of 2 gbit and not one gbit chips. Because of that someone has bin so creative to replace the 1gb chips with 2GB chips, making 16GB in total. They do not offer any performance advantage in games, the GPU itself is too weak for that.

i wouldnt say an RX 580 is equivalent to RTX 3090, its Atleast just an 1660 or arguably even lower.. stop exaggerating
