One of the best videos from my top entertaining and feel-good boardgame channel. Laughed a bunch while switching teams a couple of times.
Isle of Cats - Throwing the cats overboard would be a solution. Or why not the whole game? You could go on the Dice Tower cruise and do it ceremoniously...

I do recommend taking a deep dive into some abstract games. The are pure gold for QUICK DEEP gameplay but simple rules. I love all the games in the GIPF series but I made the mistake of playing this online for my first play. I got annihilated and I didn't even know what I did wrong or right. It was just brutal. Fr Greg will show you the ropes. I promise you that the time spent with abstracts will bring about a new fondness for them. Thrive is another good one that most people don't talk about.

OMG, Taverns is so good! You can manipulate your deck by buying and selling cards. So you can change your luck to a degree.

Regarding Brass my main criticism gameplay wise is that you eliminate one type of road to build another kind of road in the same place. Plus I get depressed only by looking at this game. You called it math the game. I call it doom and gloom the game :D

I think Bitoku looks interesting for its connection to Japanese Mythology, but I have to go with Fr. Greg for the rest.

Barenpark - one of my favourite polyomino games. 1-0 for Greg
Taverns - we enjoyed several plays of it, but once we figured out the dominant strategy, it wasn't fun anymore. Mine is one of the sell piles Dan is talking about, haha. We actually bought the expansion, and decided to play the base game first to refresh, since it had been a while. We disliked it so much that we never played the expansion (if you want the base game or expansion Greg, let me know!). 1-1
Isle of Cats - not a fan at all, even though I love polyomino games. The combination of tile placing and drafting multiple different types of cards just feels like a mess to me. 2-1 for Greg.

I haven't played the rest, so I guess it's a narrow win for Father Greg.

Taverns of Tiefenthal. Hurtful. 😂 I like this game. Probably more than I enjoyed Quacks. Like them both but I like Taverns a tad more.

HEAT looks good, but I cant see how it can be as good as Championship Formula Racing. ive been playing that one since it was speed circuit and its so so good.

I really like Barenpark. I’ve only played it on BGA, but I can see the setup being annoying. I prefer NY Zoo though so I don’t feel I need to get it. But I also love Isle of Cats! I do wish I could fill up my boat to be honest 😂 But I get that it would somewhat defeat the purpose of the game and I do think it can still be hard to place things how you want. And I think Fr. Greg is playing wrong if he can only fill 1 room 😂😂

The biggest disappointment for me and the game people seem to love and recommend alot that i hate is Santorini, i had to get it imported and waited months....it was so disappointing, the game was just so boring to me, it felt like the strategy only came at the end game and that doesn't lqst long and adding the god powers didn't change that for me 🤷🏻
