We wanted multiple file explorer tabs so we won't have a taskbar full with 10 instances of file explorer opened.
Why would I want to see what shitty weather will it be tomorrow in one tab and have my por... I mean family photos folder opened up in other tab.
I will instantly turn this feature off after the update unless they add support for multiple file explorers in those tabs...

the acrylic material effect should be applied on file explorer as well. it really increase the aesthetics of the whole OS

I dissagree with most users. I believe Edge is a fairly good browser and is highly optimized for Windows 10. That's why resources consumption such as CPU workload, memory management and battery life tend to be better than third-party browsers. That been said, you loose some functionality that other browsers may offer and of course any add-ons you require that are only compatible with such browsers. The tab functionality I think is welcome for most users because maximizing and minimizing in a long day can be very time consuming so I can see how this feature alone can save time to professionals or general users that spend a lot of time multitasking on their computers.

An OS with never settled meterial design and still don't have the stability like windows 7. Updates started from next day of RTM and then it goes like creators update, stake holders update, Fall, Autumn, Anniversary, Jubilee, Redstone, Bluestone, Build 1234, version god knows

I haven’t had any real problems with that build when I previewed it earlier I only ran Photoshop and After Effects and other such Adobe programs :).

I like the idea. But getting into a web interface when I want to add a tab of feeling just strange. If it's Edge in the background does not matter, but let it at least look like it's part of Windows and not a web browser.

It seems to me that MS is going back to the DOS days, when Windows was dependent on Internet Explorer. I.e., you could open "My Documents", and then on the address bar, type a website, and it would convert that Window to Internet Explorer. The nice thing is that we get tabs, which is sort of a mixture move between the features from DOS and ChromeOS, when it first came out too. With some changes, it does seem that all major OS' are running out of ideas for new features.

Here's an idea. Why not create a streamlined explorer that functions as a file explorer and a browser. Makes for a seemless user experience.

From what I see they are heading into that direction, hopefully.

i have activated the windows preview build..into active development of windows...and the pace is also set to fast still i am not getting this updates am currently at build 17127.1 and no new updates are coming i would be glad to get a help.. thank you

It’s basically internet explorer with tabs and file:// on the address bar, like before. Hilarious. But atleast the titlebar size is now the same as the titlebar on “modern” apps.
