NS has been doing this for a good 40 years now, the only slack is in the coupler behind the engines, the trailers are connected by a variation of the ancient "link & pin" couplers. Dont know if there are still HO models of them on the market. Think of all the semi-tractors these take off the highways!!

Wow! Is there anything linking those dollies together other than the van trailers, or are the trailers an actual stressed part of the consist??? I mean a semi trailer ain't exactly strong compared to what a rail flat car would be.
