Social Proof is more or less the idea that people follow and reflect the actions of others that they respect.

How can we apply this idea to social media marketing, or more specifically, when trying to grow an Instagram account?

We can network with other pages. We can DM, comment on, or interact with other peoples' pages, in an attempt to build mutually beneficial relationships where they'll come back and engage with your page.

This lend you some social proof, and establish trust in you. This, over the long run, can be a big help in growing your IG.
