Why is it so hard to believe that there are people who actually don't like being surrounded by other people 24/7? I've been working independently for over 3 years and exclusively from home for the past month and it's absolutely amazing. Not everyone is an extrovert. A lot of us are far more productive and efficient when left to our own devices.

I have been working from home since 2014. I wouldn’t change it for the world. No commute, no gas, no gossipy coworkers, and lots of saved time. Win win

I work better at home. I’ve been doing this for a month and a half and I don’t have to listen to office politics and can actually work 8 hours.

You asked the wrong person, AJ. Ramsey Solutions just spent millions of dollars into a new building. Not exactly moving in the direction of remote workers.

I've been working from home for almost two years now, it doesn't come without its challenges if you have kids because you have to learn how to strike a balance between your wife letting you work and you not shutting out your family for 8+ hrs a day.

But it means you get to actually enjoy your highest asset (your home) you don't miss your kids growing up, you get to be present, and you spend more time at work and less time in traffic.

Whoever those Ramsey developers and web designers are...that's cool and all, but I'd much rather spend my work down time with my wife and kids than with a "good work team"

But that's just me.

So many people are going to realize that the office is a useless space. Many jobs nowadays can be done from home but don't because of boomer bosses and managers needing to micromanage everything.
This is a boomer mentality of "being on a team". Many people commute to work, have to be away from their families. Imagine not having to wake up early to avoid traffic, seeing your spouse and kids once they come from school, tell me who wants that BS "part of the team" when they can be with their own family at home?

I love working from home! Employers save money on rent/real estate, utilities, and employees have more time at home, Less wear and tear on the car, less use of gas it’s a win-win. We do WebEx meetings and have once a month meetings In the office. Employers who have the ability to allow employees to work from home, should do so and give the employee a chance to prove they can be just as productive. We do have certain rules we must follow - chief among them - you cannot be tending to your kids while working. They must be in daycare or school or have others who take care of them while you’re working. The impact on mental health and work/life balance is tremendous.

Socializing isn’t a business-related activity. In all of my different jobs, I have never worked in a place where socializing with my coworkers was an asset to the business. I work best when I’m not being yammered at by coworkers who would rather talk all day than do any actual work. I’m actually what you might call an extrovert. I’m usually the life of the party - at parties. But when I’m working, I want to work. And working from home has always meant I was more productive. Get a clue, business owners. Your workhorses hate being in the “social” sphere of the office. Let us work from home, where we can be productive.

I’ve worked from home for 25 years as a medical transcriptionist and very happy to be without direct interactions with screaming doctors.

Hard to change the old school mentality - bosses like workers present (so the boss has something to do). I have a job where I have been allowed to work from home for the past ~5 years. I love it...before this covid I would work at the office 2 days and then 3 days at home but I see little problem with working from home 100%...my job does not involve much collaboration.

Working from home has been a goal of mine since having my firstborn 5 yrs ago. I’m blessed to have an employer that is allowing us to work from home during this time. I’ve been home for 2 weeks now and, honestly, I don’t want to go back to the office. I’m hoping that my employer will encourage remote work once all of this is done.

I usually agree with a majority of his advice, this by far, is the worse 4 mins of advice I have ever heard in watching hundred of Dave's videos. He is afraid like many old school business owners are thinking now, they are going to work from home because they enjoy it more than being at work. This advice is from a fear mindset. Littery said at beginning of segment he like everyone at work, said it many of time if it was up to Dave no one would be working at home right now.

My position has allowed us to work from home half time for years and I'm remote anyway so going to my "office" is a pointless waste of time and energy. I love it and LOVE being home full time now. No stress ridden expensive commute. Encouraging work from home is a win win win win win all around. Fewer cars in the road, better for the environment, the company saves on infrastructure costs. There's no reason not to.

But boomers resent never having had the opportunity when they were in the height of their career. Truth is a lot of busy work cube farm jobs can be done at home.

I work from home already, have for 3+ years and never looked back. Love it. I would do what I had to do, of course, but I wouldn't choose to work in an office again.

Just finished reading your book the total money makeover. Am currently unemployed, i quit after been on unpaid maternity leave.and my husband just finished his surveying diploma (Really proud of him) but his also unemployed we have no student loans we managed to pay for his fees by selling a lot of our stuff. The thing is we have two daughters, one is 7 and the youngest is 5months. I want to live like no one else so I can live like no one else, and even though I get to feel hopeless reading the stories of the people in your book has given me hope that I can find a way to make things work. Thanks Dave may God keep blessing you.

You gotta sell it to the boss, some will go for it and others will be against it. If it really matters to you and the current job won't budge, you might want to start looking for a new job that you know will be open to having working from home employees🏠. The fact that he's calling Dave about it makes me think he knows there's going to be resistance from his current employer. 🏢
