Christopher Lee's Ghost Stories for Christmas was a four-episode TV series from December 2000, in which the veteran horror actor performed four of M.R. James's ghost stories to camera, in what was by then already a charmingly old-fashioned format.

The episodes were enlivened by the conceit of recreating the atmosphere of James's Christmas get-togethers in his college rooms, where these stories were originally performed. Nonetheless, the sound of Lee's distinctive voice reading the stories is the main draw and so I've extracted the audio to be appreciated here in what is hopefully a less rights-troubling format...
