CONVERT .PNG / .JPG TO .EPS VECTOR - Photoshop for Beginners - Part 4

In this video, we can achieve an acceptable image trace on a raster .jpg file using a program called, Inkscape. When the vectorization is complete, I should you the image trace in Illustrator. I find that tracing black and white images work best. (Art file JPG JPEG PNG converted to vector file .eps)

Um... maybe take the word "Photoshop" out if you are not going to use the program. Kinda deceiving title don't you think?

Great video. It worked with black and white vectors but I tried it with a colored png file and it turned it into black and white. Would you know what I can do to keep it colored and turn it into an EPS file as well?

i tried all your steps in the video, but when i saved it on the desktop the created EPS file was unknown, when i click it it says :windows cant open the file, can you help me and tell me what to do  ?

Thanks this was exactly what I needed. First I thought it didn't work, but then I realised inkscape puts the vector graphic in front of the bitmap, and I saved both. You kinda show that very quickly when opening the saved result in photoshop, but I missed that, and my photoshop elements 11 gives an error when opening the file, so I couldn't try that.
After deleting the bitmap layer in inkscape before saving, the eps could be imported as a vector image in MS word without the ugly bitmap edges.

Everyone moaning about the program he's using; to get a vector file you're best to use a program such as Inkscape or Adobe Illustrator anyway! Gosh.

Hi, I must have 300dpi so I started with that file size but when I saved a .png file to the .eps it compressed my file, even though I specified 300dpi. Has this happened to you, any advice?

I'm going to go ahead and flag this. Your video comes up #1 in Google search for "Photoshop PNG to Vector" and I kinda think you know your title is misleading. You need to put InkScape in the title, not Photoshop.
