I've eaten many handfuls of these berries with no ill effects. The seeds have a mild toxin if you chew them hard enough to break the hard shell, so chew lightly. The more intense the red color the sweeter the berries tend to be. Some individual shrubs will taste better than others.

I planted them few months ago and I was very happy to see it when it was full of flowers but most of the flower fall of it seems because I water it every day

I used to eat them when I was kid, didn't know their name so I called bird apples. I have always thought the plant beautiful, in winter especially. I am in my 80' s now I still occasionally eat some of these"bird apples". I don't recommend them as a food source 👵🏻. 🖖. 🤔. 🤢

Do the roots spread on this plant to other areas?

The presenter said the berries are poisonous so how come they are an important winter food for birds?

is this like a rowan tree ? It produces small, bright red berries. The fruit can be cooked to make jellies, jams, sauces and marmalade.
