Thanks for that Kieran, this is my hobby not my living, I bought both ( the early deal was too good not to) I wasn't sure which version should be my preference as I love both, but I get it now, any team that can spit out upgrades while under attack is worthy of any ones time, attention and money.

I've only had problems with Luminar software. The way it handles raw photo processing is horrific. There was a massive thread on the forums about it that they just locked. They did not have any way to have lens corrections apply on import. And the auto lens correct tool was not correcting accurately.

It is rumored that in 12/2022 Skylum will be releasing Luminar Nova(TM) comprising a combination of all the features of AI and Neo, a complete new AI-machine, automatically replaceable faces in Portrait AI (even in batch-mode!) and a programmable SQLite-catalogue, being fully accessible by the user for introduction of own fields and queries. Furthermore, the Nova database will add an AI driven automatic classification of your images (landscape, nude, men, woman, child, portrait, water, sun, night, black&white...). But this will only be some hint of what is coming further down the road in 12/2023: Luminars' Super Nova(TM)... ;-)

I got Luminar AI few months ago and happy with that software. Wasn't sure if I want to get the NEO but I like your explanation that Luminar AI it's more for quick-edit and you done vs. Neo is more for in-depth. Make sense.

Can it do batch editing of dust spots. That would help a lot if let’s say you shot video with dust spot and able t separate the frames and get them batched edited

Hi Kieran, I don't think you can transfer catalogues into, Luminer AI, but yes from Luminer AI to Luminer Neo now. Perhaps you can do a video on this please. Regards, Joe-BSc

Why then other channels says that everything inside Ai is included inside NEO?

I buy Luminar 3 with Photolemur 2. Less than a year later they release Luminar 4. I buy Luminar 4 and photolemur 3 because I told myself the third was probably at the end of his lifecycle.

Less than a year later they release Luminar Ai. I just bought Luminar Ai less than 6 months ago.



Now they are releasing LUMINAR NEO!! instead of at least updating Luminar Ai for at least another 6 months...



Seriously, they lost me this time. I will take the time to learn Affinity photo even if it is a LOT more complex. I know it is more powerful and they are not going to release another version in 6 months.



At least for now they are not releasing a new Aurora HDR every year... (I hope I am not giving them ideas)

I have already prepurchsed Neo, so with that aside I am trying to piece things together. You said that AI and Neo is like the difference between LR and PS. But they have different catalogs. Whereas with LR I start there and then shift to PS then come back to LR. Given that one is not meant to replace the other, are you able to describe how these products are meant together?
