Great attempt. Looking down squashing your throat is no way to sing and you can hear that clearly in the recording of some of the singers. Either learn the words or work out how the can read their phones with their heads up. Maybe wear their glasses the other way up or get some cheap reading glasses. Keep it up. When you have cracked the technicals the fantastic possibilities are to record in an acoustic location, a famous church or somewhere. Maybe you could all move as a roman platoon carrying the microphone?
