Following an Oval Office meeting with President Biden and VP Harris, congressional media speak to the media.

Sen. Schumer: "It was both a productive and an intense meeting."

Rep. Jeffries: "It was an intense meeting. It was an honest meeting and ultimately it was a productive meeting."

Speaker Johnson: "It was frank and honest...then I had a one-on-one for a period of time with the president, just he and I in the Oval Office...it's time for action...we will get the government funded and we'll keep working on that."

Sen. McConnell: "I think it's pretty safe to say we all agree we need to avoid a government shutdown. The speaker was optimistic that they would be able to move forward first with the four bills."
