The fact she has never won a Tony is criminal

Dame Julie is just amazing. She deserves an honorary Tony.

I think the reason why we love Julie is because she is both ordinary and extraordinary in the same instant. There is nothing about her that is apparently different from you or me, and yet she is so brilliant. We can relate to her, despite how far above us she is. I don't know how she achieves this magical dichotomy, but she does, and thank goodness for it.

The Tonys should be ashamed for not having given the luminous Julie Andrews a Tony. She is a Broadway treasure, for God's sake! She originated the iconic role of Eliza Dolittle. And she doesn't have a Tony? An award a lot of what's-her-name do have. Guys, we are speaking of the GREAT JULIE ANDREWS ! She has been a Tony presenter and a hostess many a time. She has performed at the Tonys too, and marvelously well. Therefore, shame on you, you won't have any credibility until Dame Julie Andrews is given one. Hurry up, folks!

She originated a leading role in no less than four book musicals on Broadway, all of which were either successful or just plain smash hits. She was the first Polly Brown( she won the Theatre World award), the first Eliza Doolittle, the first Queen Guinevere, the first Victor/Victoria. She was nominated for a Leading actress tony in the last three of those 4 musicals. Not sure she will get that lifetime achievement award regardless. Some may still be miffed she refused her nomination for Victor /Victoria

The best choice and best voice ever for the role of Eliza on stage and on film. Truly a treasure, the one and only Julie Andrew's. ❤❤

The Tony Award audience at the 1991 Tony Awards should have given Julie Andrews a standing ovation for this superb performance of a medley of 3 songs from the 2 Broadway musicals "Camelot" and "My Fair Lady" that she originally appeared in!

Wonderful performance by a truly talented, gracious lady. Such a shame the audience didn’t get up off their arses and acknowledge this world class performer.

She's brilliant here, fighting the miserable orchestration that's almost overpowering her.

Thank you so much for this too brief sample of the talent of the beautiful, wonderful, genuine Julie Andrews! Somewhere in my youth or childhood I must have done something good to find this unexpected gift.

Fantastic. Standing ovations, which this performance deserved were not as common in those days.

Beautiful lady, beautiful voice, great singer. I have been smitten since the 1960's. Love this clip.

How come they didn't give her the standing ovation? She is the Broadway Superstar more popular than any of them.
