Cairo, the capital of Egypt, is one of the oldest and most populous cities in the world. It has a rich history dating back to over 6,000 years ago. In the past 40 years, Cairo has undergone rapid urbanization and development. This timelapse video takes a look at how the city has changed from 1984 to 2020, using satellite imagery from Google Earth.

The video begins with a view of Cairo in 1984. The city is much smaller than it is today, and the skyline is dominated by the pyramids and the Citadel. As the video progresses, we see the city grow and expand. New skyscrapers are built, and the population increases dramatically. By 2020, Cairo is a sprawling metropolis with over 20 million inhabitants.

This is scary, good achievments in expanding into the deserts, but still the fertile green lands got really smaller, while the population got bigger. They should do something about it
