Don't visit such places in Kiev in winter!

Kiev is very beautiful city and I love it so much. But there are few places which doesn't make sense to visit in winter for some reasons.
1. Pyrohiv Museum of Architecture and Lifestyle or Village Museum. Pyrohiv is really great place to visit in Ukraine in case of understanding culture and village life, but I really hate it in winter. First of all they don't clean the way from snow. Maybe it is to have experience with real village, hehe, but in reality it is very dangerous, slippery and not comfortable. The most interesting part that you can visit every house and see decoration and lifestyle inside. Because this is a museum of lifestyle. But most of houses are closed in winter. So you just going around in snow with wind and nothing more.
2. Museum of Miniatures. Same idea. If you see snow or a lot of melted snow with dirt - better not to go. You will see half buildings in snow.
3. Botanic garden Definitely nothing to see in winter.
4. Obolon Promenade near Dnipro river. Not so much impressive, not a lot of people, clod winter
5. Trukhaniv Island. No entertainment.

I have a guess about the open air museum. The houses seem to be built according to the old methods with the materials of that time. People would bring in humidity with their clothes and shoes and with the breath. It would condense on the cold walls and furnishings and damage them, maybe mold would develope. The miniature museum is something I would like to visit. Thank you for the interesting video.

I get it, we can get inside the houses of Pyrohiv in winter but I would still like just to wander around in the snow, it's even more beautiful for me.The plus side is that there won't be a lot of people.

Hello my dears!😁. Still plenty to see and do in the winter. Just back from a trip to Kiev over Xmas and looking forward to returning. These videos really did help prepare for my first visit. Maybe next time we will bump into Olga

We actually have a miniature museum in Cullman Alabama built by Catholic monks which is sort of neat. Ukrainian village reminds me of Conner Prairie by Indianapolis or Dearborn Village by Detroit.

The first time I visited Kiev was a February, so there was a lot of snow. Actually I paid for a walking tour with a guide, I enjoyed it so much I booked her again when I returned in summer. I don't think I'd be tempted to stray far from the city centre in winter for ANY tourist attraction, better to be close to a warm hotel room or a pub with a nice fireplace :)

Hi thanks for your tips about winter in Kiev. I don’t mind travelling while it’s covered in snow. I’m a photographer & want to do Snowscape. Q what it’s like walking & how high is snow on ground do you know!! May want to buy a good walking weatherproof boot 🙂

It would be a lot nicer to visit Ukraine in the summer when you can go to see things. In the winter most of the places would be hard to get too or covered in snow.
