14:06 I bought some of the green sunflower embroidered border cotton fabric and want to make a very simple boxy short sleeve top with it. Do you have any pattern recommendations for this? Also, how would you go about adding a lining to the bodice? If the pattern calls for bias binding the neckline, what would you use with this type of fabric? And lastly, when you have a fabric like this with such an open weave, do you still just sew it like you would other fabric?
I love this fabric, and had such a clear idea of how I wanted to use it in my mind, but then I realized there are a lot of logistical roadblocks for me that I hadn’t considered.
Also, I find that a lot of the fabrics I love are on the more sheer side. Is there a general set of guidelines for adding a lining to any pattern/type of garment?
17:25 My husband would like me to make him a shirt, i got fairfield button up pattern, made more than one toile, nothing fits, he doesn’t fit any of the sizes. I’m not an expert and can’t slash the pattern all over the place as others have done, but I could use existing bought shirt that fits and adjust the pattern to that size. Is this an acceptable thing to do?
