I'm thrilled to see a positive review of One of Us Knows! I feel like Alyssa Cole is such a talented author, and I hate that her two recent thrillers have been met with not so great reviews in the online book community. She's very masterful in how she weaves social commentary throughout her books, and I really enjoy that in her writing.

As for One of Us Knows specifically... I gave it four stars. You hit the nail on the head with why it might not jive with a larger audience who likes quick easy thrillers. It's a more complex thriller. Usually I read thrillers in two to three days on audio. With One of Us Knows, I found myself reading it over more days than I usually do. It was a lot of information to take in, trying to understand everything that was happening in the main character's inner and outer world. I was into it, but I guess not everyone is going to have the patience for that in a thriller.

I absolutely loved the humor in One of Us Knows, and was laughing out loud. I'm not usually expecting a lot of humor in a thriller, so that was a bonus.

I read a lot of gothic literature. This book hasn't been marketed as a gothic thriller to my knowledge, but it totally is! I don't think Alyssa Cole has written any gothic novels before (could be wrong though), so I was impressed with how well she did with that. She did a great job on setting up a gothic atmosphere, and touching on common themes in gothic literature. She's very good at creating an errie sense of suspense, which is something I also enjoyed in When No One Is Watching.

I really enjoyed One of Us knows (4 stars) picked it up as soon as I saw it on your thriller video. Read it in 1 day because i just had to know. Loved the unique aspect of DID. By the end, I wish I could have videoed my facial expressions because I was all over the board. 😂😂

New sunny here, I haven’t seen One of Us Knows so I will definitely pick this up, its a breath of fresh air to see a book that’s not all the rage on booktok & booksta. Don’t get me wrong, some of those books are good too, but, there are too many books and genre’s for the book community to be stuck on the same 20 books. Enjoyed this vlog ❤

I am reading this book also and I am on chapter 24 and for me it is good because this is a different kind of book for me. And so glad u came up with the movie it reflects because that is what I was thinking but couldn’t think of the title. So I just finished one of us knows and I did not enjoy it . The banter At first I did enjoy it but then a lot happened and it was so confusing . I ended up giving it a 2! The stories plot was good but I felt like it got lost .

Okay Darling Girls sounds so good! I'm also more of a character-driven book fan so I related to that a lot. As much as I related to the comment about Freida McFadden. It's great if people enjoy her books, and I thought the The Housemaid was entertaining but the writing style... and the predictability of the book.... I guess there are some other thrillers more up my alley. 😂
