Adapting to climate change: A new BSI international standard

Показать описание
Join Dr Tim Fox, Chair of the Process Division at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and John Dora of John Dora Consulting Limited to discuss the recent BSI international standard on resilience to climate change, ISO 14090 Adaptation to climate change: Principles, requirements and guidelines. These standards, which were developed by the BSI, offer a flexible way to make a plan that is consistent, replicable and verifiable to identify impacts and prioritise actions to ensure resilience
Climate change will affect many engineering-based sectors including energy, manufacturing, the built environment and infrastructure to mention a few. For example, the energy sector will be impacted from disruption of energy supply to changes in heating and cooling requirements and across manufacturing supply chains will potentially be disrupted and there will be changes in the availability of eco-systems services. Shifts in temperature and rainfall patterns will impact materials.
