I'm pretty sure the older cmf piece wasn't very good because I've heard a lot of people complain about theirs breaking and being too weak. I don't have the cmfs yet so can't talk from my own experience but I'd rather have the more durable ones that look slightly worse. The printing and stuff was undeniably better for the cmf though if nothing else.
