This was the game in which I discovered Mario. Loved it and have always played Mario since. Great sense of nostalgia when I watch this. Looking forward to Mario Kart 9 already!

My first Mario Kart game and I have such incredible memories of this game. I think a single tear rolled down my cheek when I saw they were remastering Choco Mountain for Mario kart 8. I hope we get lots more N64 courses

I was always creeped out by rainbow road in this game.
Scary chain chomps coming your way, mysterious, long, Rainbow Road in a completely pitch black area, Bottomless pit below you.

Those race start, item box, and race won sounds are so nostalgic to me.
Also, those animations are so cartoonish, they kill me... in a good way.
I was about to list my favourite courses but then remembered there were only a few I didn’t love: Toad’s Turnpike, Bowser’s Castle, and the one with the ice and penguins... Wario Stadium was pretty boring.
