@Stoney Ridge my forest secret for Morel Mushrooms are SYCAMORE TREES, I've said for years the Mushroom Spores get caught in the Bark of the Sycamore and in Spring the Bark is blown off the tree and the Spores Drop. AS THE WIND BLOWS, Also found many along deer trails, providing the deer didn't get there 1st. Turkey, Bear and many other critters consume morels.

My dad used to eat May apples he said they're only good for 2 weeks out of the whole year the rest of the time they're poisonous and he hunted morel mushrooms but he never mentioned the fact that morels grow around May apples maybe he never figured it out

That may apple when yellow tastes awesome. Don't frighten people. They are good to eat when ripe. When green they will ring you out.
