Minor battle huh? If it wasn't for Mexico winning that battle it wouldn't have given the US enough time to end the civil war and regather it's strength in order to send weapons to Mexico. All of North America perhaps would have been speaking French!

What is celebrated??
White country folks excuse to go get chips and salsa and margaritas.
Mexico doesn’t celebrate it in a big deal. And if there are places it’s for the tourist.
In September all month they celebrate big instead.
