Fujifilm's Middle Child - The X-E3

The middle child of the Fujifilm Family is the often ignored X-E series.
So, is the X-E3 any good, or should it remain forgotten and forlorn?
How good is it against the Superstar XPro3, X-T4 and X100V?
Should we give it some love, or give it the flick?

Two extra points... 1) The X-E3 is smaller than the X-E1, so it's good to see that sort of 'evolution'. 2) I don't know why this video isn't full screen, cos I'm a hobo youtuber and don't know what I'm doing :)

I had an X-Pro1 and didn't wanted to buy X-Pro2. My son works as a filmmaker with XT3, too much for me as well. Bought an X-E3 and together with my Voigtlander lenses I have a very good, very high quality system.

Nice. Thank you. I just picked up an X-E3. It’s my first interchangeable lens camera. I love it. I love the rangefinder styling. The bad thing about it - it has me (purposelessly) lusting after an X-Pro. Even an X-pro 1! I have already had fun picking up some unusual and vintage lenses for the x-E3. I reckon I should save my money and get myself a solid Fujinon prime lens instead of an old X-pro right now.

J'ai eu le X-Pro1 et quand je l'ai changé j'ai pris le X-E3 avec le 23mm F2, j'ai aussi le 35mm F1, 4 et un 16mm F2, 8. Des deux c'est mon préféré, je l'ai toujours avec moi. Le rapport qualité prix est excellent. Je n'ai pas l'intention ou l'envie de changer mon set-up. Super choix. 😜

The x-e3 is a crazy underrated camera. I have used it for studio work and professional jobs, the only hesitation is when the client sees you pull out such a small camera! But as you mentioned, the inner workings are exactly the same and will produce the exact same quality as some of the big brothers.

Bought the x-e3 with a xf23 1.4. Brilliant body and lens. I don't care about the xe4. To me that is a step back, missing essential dials. Now I've added the TTArtisan 50 1.2. Just love that combination. Now need a second x-e3 body for my xf23 and I'm set. Small kit and no changing of lenses.

A serious nice cam. With the pancake (27mm) you can take it easy wherever you want.
And with the XC35mm it´s a beautiful and portable "portrait-machine". Bargain too.
You will shoot more with this kind of middle child.

I bought an xe1 on a whim - my first Fuji - and really loved it. Except my thumb kept hitting buttons on the back and it drove me nuts. So I upgraded to the xe3 and really really love it. And no thumb issues either. Happily using it was manual focus lenses (adapted M mount) and starting to question if I need my Sony A7. Good video, thanks.

I love that it is SO SMALL, yet still packs a lot of punch in term of IQ and performance.

Bought my xe3 last year and it was my first fuji camera. I love it! I'm still really bummed that they're cutting the line. Would have loved an xe4 with a tilty screen and weather sealing. 😥

The XE3 was the first Fuji camera I fell in love with and it definitely was a gateway to the XPRO.

picked up an XE3 with a broken shutter for 250.00 if I'm able to fix it for a decent price it's going to be a steal. If not well an expensive paper weight. The prices for used fuji cameras is out of control.

I had a X-E2s and it was one of my favorite cameras. 1) it was so small that it just went everywhere with me, 2) for a camera that small the rangefinder style is more comfortable than SLR style. I also had a X-T2 and to be honest a lot of features were just far superior so I sold the xe while I could still get some money for it. I have high hopes for the X-E4 and may pick one up.
