The Man from U.N.C.L.E. was more than popular, it was a phenomenon! But only for a short while. This series should have lasted longer, but the producers/network made a terrible decision down the line. The first season was played straight, as a serious action series. But during the second seasons, they started to introduce more and more humor. By the third season, the series had fallen into the camp category (maybe because of Batman in 1966). And that killed it. * * * Mission: Impossible was such a great show! The intro title was a piece of genius editing with bits of the most dramatic scenes of that episode, perfect to hook in viewers. Steven Hill, the first leader left the show because the filming schedule was too intense and he refused to work on the Shabbat. I don't remember seeing him much on tv or movies after that until he landed a regular role on the very long running tv show Law & Order as district attorney Adam Schiff for ten years! (1990-2000)

Thanks for the video. I have the complete Man From UNCLE comic book series, and several of the I Spy comics as well. Love pulling them out to read every once in a while. Really brings back wonderful memories from the 1960s. I have many other mementos from UNCLE, including the complete book series for Man and Girl From UNCLE, plus ID cards, patches, and more. It was very sad to lose David McCallum last Fall.
