She's a good girl, she just wants to protect the things that matter to her.❤

My reactive senior rescue can be super rude with adults, but she's super duper concerned and sweet with human, kitten, and puppy little ones.

Good girl Winnie. Look at you, teaching puppies how to dog. 😊

She is the best - reminds me of my old Nikita who we lost this year. Also reactive!! Thanks for sharing her life with us.

As an animal trainer/rehabilitator, a very reactive dog I rehabilitated was actually a lot calmer around other dogs (not too many dogs but a couple of dogs), reactive dogs are often just dogs who went through trauma, so they get pretty intense at perceived danger.
Basically big dog gets a lil' spooked, will bark like hell, but if human comes over to say it's all okay, dog will hide snoot in human's knees.

This is so true of my pittie/boxer/australian cattle reactive dog too. She allows every stray dog inside the house and now the latest 2 belgian malinois shepherds are her bigger younger brothers lol... This was heart warming to watch. Beautiful pups 💜

My cattle dog mixwas highly reactive. She was the sweetest thing ever if she got to meet another dog off of her turf. They could come back and they'd be best friends immediately.

They're not mean, they're just protective.

i have a pretty reactive overprotective dog too, and the best way for me personally to be able to be around him more is just bonding with him. he used to get super agitated when id enter the room (trying to protect my mom, he is veeerry overprotective and have had a few problems with that before) but over the course of a few weeks, now that i play with him more and give him lots of treats (not too many dw- vet says he's a very healthy weight) he gets excited when i enter the room :D so yeh, i think reactive dogs can DEFINITELY be loving and kind, 100% agreed

1000% my heeler. She adores puppies and kittens. Not a fan of strange humans or their dogs. She even attacks the fence when the connecting fences have their dogs out.

Thank you

Also public can be a lot for a dog to take in. Sometimes it's just more comfortable in it's own home. ❤

This is so cute but it also makes me sad. She looks like she was such good friends with all the puppies and they were only being fostered so she had to say goodbye to all her friends 🥺

My dog rocky was reactive, he tried to nip luna (she was a baby puppy, fit in your palm) when I finally introduced them, they lived like an old married couple he would growl but never hurt her or get away from her. Then when we got Daisy (my profile pic) he just stayed away and made grumbles with her.

She’s a great dog just a discriminating leader who needed some more love, time, support and attention than most. You’ve both done an amazing job!🤜🏽🤛🏽😄

That's thanks to all the patience and dedication you gave to Winnie 🥹❤️
I'm sooo happy to see her like that. Reactive dogs are still wonderful creatures 💕
