Letting go off your weight class might have been the best thing you could have done for your strength progress and the fact you wanted the muscle mass on yourself, enjoy all the PR going forward.

I've had 4 or 5 overarching goals for my lifting career, 3 of which I've hit. The 2 lifts I have unfinished business with are 185x1 OHP and 225x10 Close Grip bench. I've struggled with both of these lifts as I'm tall with a very large wingspan, so each 5lb gain or rep added is a fight. Should be able to hit these goals by this time next year.

My primary strength goal is to be strong enough to comfortably and SAFELY extricate my "heavier" patients out of their homes (or other scenes) using our extrication devices, e.g. manual stair chair, manual stretcher, manta tarp, various carries, et c. without necessarily having to call other units for a lift assist. Unless actually necessary. I just want to be capable of doing my job safely, and without injuring myself. And yeah hell I obviously want to LOOK like I can do all these things because one of my insecurities is being perceived as physically weak/incapable by my patients or their family members.

All that being said, dude, lifting weights has made me SO MUCH MORE CAPABLE of achieving this goal. Working out has literally given me the ability to be a better medic. It's amazing.

I'd really like to hit a 3 plate bench someday but I think it's just not in the cards. I'd be happy with a 275 lb bench press and a 405 lb squat. Currently, my max bench is 250 lb, squat is 385 lb and deadlift is 505 lb.

Could someone tell me what brand of barbell he is using?

Primary goal of my life with lifting as a whole: 405 bench, 515 squat, and 585 deadlift while weighing between 180 and 200 lbs bodyweight lean by age 40.

Currently 28 weigh 160 lbs. Best bench is 315, squat 415, and deadlift 500.

10 rep maxes are much more impressive and challenging then a traditional one rep max.. overall your getting strong either way and it creates excitement in this lifting journey. Nothings more satisfying then making your 7th rep max your 10th rep. ✨ 😎

One of my long term goals is to be a lean 215lbs bw. I’ve never been over 200lbs. I was 198 earlier this year and lost some weight because of some health challenges. Short term strength goals are 135 ohp for 3x5 and 225 bench for 3x5.

Short term: S/B/D of 405/275/500 by year's end. Off by 40/15/25 as of last attempts in Feb.

The 500 pull is also a lifetime goal I've had since I was a kid and my old man took me to my first powerlifting meet. I've told myself if I can convincingly hit it in the garage I'll also sign up for my first meet just to say I've competed once.

I think I'd love to hit 600lb on Squat (both high and low bar) and Deadlift (both conventional and Sumo) and 400lb on bench
