The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is stepping in after an off-duty Atlanta Police officer shot and killed a man at a shopping plaza in the Buckhead neighborhood, authorities said.

Police said they were called to the 2700 block of Lenox Road Wednesday just before 3 p.m. Heavy police presence was seen by the shopping plaza next to Lenox Village Apartments, right outside the Roasters Rotisserie restaurant.

This is a developing story.

East point used to be nice, Collage Park used to be nice, West End used to be nice and now Buckhead used to be nice. Ruining metro Atlanta one part at a time.

After two full minutes or more not one person in the restaurant stepped up to help a uniformed officer. Not one.

Why try to "fake" save the suspect? If u shoot a person 5 times....I'm assuming u want him dead!

Well at least Buckhead is doing something. I moved an hour and a half north from Atlanta two years ago. Thugs everywhere and cops seem either unable or unwilling to do anything about it.

In economic terminology this is an abatement problem – – thug abatement. The price of thuggery in Atlanta needs to be drastically increased, and unfortunately this is going to require the unintended consequence of shooting some thugs dead.

The brain drain out of Atlanta is incredible. The initial data is troubling with respect to the future of the city. If the trend keeps going all Atlanta is going to have as a population is wealthy people in gated communities with private security, and thugs and their victims.

This is how you offload excess baggage from the community thus saving the cost and time that would have been incurred during court proceedings.

The guy's name is Rogers Kyaruzi. He is a 30 year old Tanzanian who moved to USA at a young age. He became a self made millionaire.

Don't grab officer's equipment....Stay calm....Stay alive. SIMPLE!
