The Duplass brothers are a great example of the multi-functionality required to be independent: writing, acting, producing, directing, promoting, distributing. Their high rate of productivity seems to support their ethos. I wonder, how do they manage the inherent risk of film as a commercial enterprise?

A good example of pursuing the art, purely. Not so great example of paying the rent, perhaps. I salute Mark nonetheless and am now inspired to watch some of his work.
