Hahaha Faye most of us islanders hoard 😂😂😂 coz we don't like wasting money you know hehe. As soon as something stops working I bin it straight away so I don't think about "oh maybe I'll let it sit and will try again and see if it works" coz that's what my sister does haha. And omg wish your mandarin tree was in my yard it won't have fuas 😂😂😂 coz my girl will demolish it. And the salvos was funny 😂😂 I wouldn't walk past fill a bag for $25 even if I don't need more ipus haha but hey we're islanders we can never have enough platters and bowls and what not 😉

Letting go of stuff is never easy. The council just collected my household rubbish this week. I threw away quite a few things but I had to let them go. I've just done some decluttering in my kitchen and laundry. It took me 5 days!!! One more day tomorrow to finish up and I'll move onto the lounge area. I think my lounge will take 1-2 days because of my hallway cupboard that's full of... stuff....😅😅😅

Like you, I'm a hoarder. I grew up in poverty.

I'm not materialistic. I'm just a hoarder. I used to refuse throwing mugs, plates, clothes, books, toys, etc... If they're still usable, they're staying home. I kept everything thinking that I might use them in the future. The problem I've encountered was buying plastic containers to fit them. I used to stack them in the garage. Then there were times when I wanted to use them but couldn't find them or the items were right deep in the container, so I'd just buy new ones again. That meant that I had double, triple or quadruple of many items. And I refused to throw them because they were new and they cost me money. However, enough is enough. My kitchen was messy. I couldn't think properly. So yeah, I've decided to declutter. And my, my...I didn't know where to start! It was hard! But thank goodness, I've done it! Now. I can think properly and get the items easily.

So congratulations for letting go of many things. It's hard but you've done it!

my mum is exactly the same. she's very organised but she hoards as well. so her clutter is all organised hahahaha. it feels suffocating to be at my parents house cos there is just so much stuff everywhere.
