The 4 corner schools better get their acts together or they are going to be left out in the cold.

I can’t wait to see Tony Altimore to eat a lot of crow. And see a lot of Big 12 receipts.

The UofA absolutely has no problem leaving ASU behind if need be. There are more UofA alumnus in the Phx metro area than ASU. Basketball, Football, both....UofA is attractive and most likely already gone to the Big 12.

I wouldn't be surprised if SDSU, Fresno St, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Arizona St, UNLV and Memphis get full invites for the Big 12. Add UCONN and Gonzaga as Basketball only members. The conference is changed enough to have split into East and West Divions in football with 10 teams each. The winners play in a Big 12 championship game with knowing you will never have a conference rematch in the championship game.

UConn is not even in NYC to get there. Stony Brook is in NYC area.
Some Big 12 leaders do not think no PAC 12 schools are leaving. Plus, the same leaders don't want UConn or Gonzaga. Big 12 is football only first. The FBS conferences are mainly football first, not men's basketball.

Would this "decoupling" link men's and women's basketball? The latter is rising in interest and significance.

Decouple basketball can allow another school football while keeping there basketball out. Good example is UTSA football can be a great fit without there basketball. Get the upside only and leave the downside out.

ESPN/FOX can choose to pay more or not, for UConn.
The XII can talk with them and come to an agreement. If it works, it works. If not, then not.
I'm betting ESPN/FOX will pay SOMETHING extra, but I have no idea how much.
Right now we paid out $44M with a $22M tv deal. So we earned $22M above the TV deal. SO if they get nothing UConn could still get $20M+ if they join.

I really hope UConn joins. Not for football. This is New England....we don't care about college football, that much. But the Big 12 basketball tournament will be an event itself. And getting to go see UConn play Kansas regular season....damn. But in baseball UConn brings a top 25 program, despite losing today, and seeing them here against Texas Tech and TCU will be a big leap forward from Big East baseball. And the Big 12 teams coming here for women's volleyball would make me so happy.

If you remove basketball and sell it separately, wouldn’t that make your football package that used to include basketball less valuable? I don’t understand how this equals more money… maybe this is a big12 education at work….
