Many people say that Pattaya, Thailand is only good for solo, male tourists, who are seeking the nightlife offered in Pattaya. I will tell you a different story.
I will tell you that if you stay away from the nightlife areas, Pattaya is very accommodating for families to visit and explore one of the most historic, tourist landmarks in the world.
For the female travelers, there is plenty of shopping, from Terminal 21 to the street vendors. There is some where to shop for each price point.
Dining in Pattaya, Thailand is one aspect that is often overlooked.
You can find fine dining such as, Beefeaters Steakhouse. Middle class foods from Smoking Joe's, or A fresh slice of Bronx pizza if you are on a budget.
As a family, there are plenty of attractions to visit in and around the city. There's the Dinosaur Park, Floating Markets, and plenty of activities for the kids.
Don't forget, Jomtien, Thailand is only a 15 minute ride away!

It's all a matter of perspective, People who are there for one reason often see the whole area as part of that perspective. I've stayed in Jomtien twice. Only been in Pattaya City once to catch a boat to Koh Lan which is also a beautiful place for a family to go and much cleaner water, even than Jomtien. Really like Jomtien. Will check out Pattaya City later. As for Hua Hin, Cha Am also nice however getting to Pattaya is much easier and cheaper. I get off the plane jump on a bus downstairs 180 baht and less than 2 hours I'm there. Also for families there is so much more to do and see. Like your video's.

If someone has business to take care of in the area and would still like to have a family vacation it’s not a bad place to be, kind of centrally located and most everything has English translation.

Its a slam dunk marriage breaker. Go to the islands, its worth the extra. The air quality is shocking at the moment, as well.

While it is possible for a family to be safe and have a good time, everything that is good about Pattaya that is not the "night life" is generally better and cheaper in other parts of Thailand. If you had to go there with your family it is fine, but I wouldn't recommend anyone plan it out if you could go literally anywhere else.
