Been watching your videos. Thanks for your time and making these videos. Recent 55 year old male retired widow with 5 kids 11 to 25. Back out there dating after 3 decades of marriage. Been going through my wardrobe and grooming habits based off your coaching mentoring and my kids recommendations lol….specifically older 20 plus yr old daughters. You’re making a difference with your videos :) Thanks again

That’s a cool belt! I’m a woman, but I’d totally recommend that to a man who wanted a “bang-for-buck” capsule wardrobe. 👍 I love the micro-adjustment & swappable buckles.

John, I think you’d can sell just about anything. You believe in your products and in your style choices. As always, well done!

The advice given is very simple and common sense. However, it's amazing how something so basic is often overlooked.

I'm 44, and my sister (9yrs older) told it to me best in my 20's...
Invest in statement pieces. Like sports coats, good denim, and tailored suits. Always invest in good shoes. As much as you can afford. These expensive items will last you years. Then, buy good quality, stylish but affordable shirts, Tees, and other items.
You dont have to dress head-to-toe expensive. The statement pieces will do the talking.
Greatest fashion advice I've ever received.
Now, I buy custom-made statement jackets, suits, jeans, and shoes whenever I can... because I can afford it.

Another great video ! I’m rebuilding piece by piece trying to follow your advise. When i’m in a store i try to remember all the tips, but end up picking something which catches my eye. Pls do a video on actual shopping in a store as well! Thanks ❤❤

Simple advice here John!
One of these points I've changed in my wardrobe lately, is to do with belts. I much prefer to match my belt to my trousers recently, instead of my shoes.
I think belts look best when they are as inconspicuous as possible, so they don't cut your body in half visually. If you can skip the belt altogether, I'd go with that. But if you need one to keep your pants up, I would always go with a belt that matches the color of your trousers as closely as possible.

Great advice as usual. Thank you! I just received my second 3 belt box set from Anson. Preferred the first box on your recommendation and they are terrific. All my old belts have been donated. Keep up the great content. Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺

@40OverFashion John you should do a video of you trying on clothes off the rack, then the comparison after you have them tailored. I think it would give your viewers a greater comprehension of how much of a boost is on your style and looks.

Maybe, for those who can't really afford to spend too much money, take it a step further and perhaps buying clothes at stores like Target and tailor them to see how much of an improvement it makes while saving a few bucks on the way.

Keep up the great content!

John, so right! I'm starting to go to the tailor 'cause i have a heavy midsection and although i get lucky sometimes, most stuff off the rack doesn't look good. If i buy pants that fits me in the waist, it's too big and baggy at hips and the legs. So i have to taper these. Also, the color idea helps! (One pont: Go to a seamstress, not a fancy tailor, they charge less and a good one does the same work.)

Great advices always. from the two past years i haven't be able to take care about my wardrobe because of the pain in the hip caused by arthrosis. I had my first cirugy on past january and the second one will be into two weeks. Everthing has been great about it. I need to start to recover my life and one of the aspects is how i will dress now that im 54. Im in a city in the north of Mexico but i can cross legaly to usa in order to do my shopping. Im going to start buying new shoes, new belts, etc. Im following you but because my illness i havent put attention to clothes and styling. It was too much pain. But i planning to start over again. Best regards
