True Story - from Houston Tx. I had a friend 60 something who was near retirement who worked with me for a long time and everyday during his break he would go the gas station and buy multiple $10.00 scratch offs. Well one day he bought his scratch off and won the big 1mil prize. I never saw him again after that day. His boss told me that when he scratched off that ticket he walked into his office, showed it to him, and told him he is retiring early. He left the same day quietly without being noticed and didn't tell anyone.

I Use to be addicted to buying scratches and had a notebook I’d keep track of how much I spent and lost. I’d buy out of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and the outcome was for each state I only won around half the money back that I had spent. Needless to say I gave up and will never buy scratch offs again🤣

I did something about the same many years ago. When I worked at a 7-11, if I saw that no one won big on a particular roll of tickets I would wait until I ended my shift and then after walking out and coming back in as a customer I would buy the end of a pack. Most of the time I came out ahead.
