Mudflat Pottery Studio 45th Annual Auction

Mudflat Studios 45th Gala Auction at 81 Broadway was last Saturday night. Packed with handmade wares galore. My eyes and thoughts spent most of an evening softly fixed on shapes made of clay; Aha! What is clay you ask? It’s made up of minerals, plant life, and animals—all the ingredients of soil. Over time, water pressure breaks up the remains of flora, fauna, and minerals, pulverizing them into fine particles. Larger particles are filtered out through rocks and sand, leaving silt to settle into beds of clay.
