Thanks! Couldn't figure out why my porter bee escape didn't have enough room on the underside. Time to widen the hole.

So then what we’re talking about is inserting the board below the honey supers that you want to pull honey from and in order to accomplish this you have to lift the full box off the stack, place the bee escape board on top and then replace the super you’ve removed. Correct? So here’s another question for you. Because the boxes are so heavy (and I am now old and weak) is there any disadvantage to doing the boxes one at a time? And since you’re up, one more question. Would it be advisable to place an empty western below the escape to give the bees some room? I ask this because I would be forcing bees into a now cramped space. I have no further questions. You may step down. Oh and you may be excused.

So you use the inner as the lid during this time and don’t but the top cover/lid on?
